Congrats to London for winning the 2012 Olympic bid! That's actually pretty crazy. As much as I love London and am glad they won and whatnot, Paris was far more prepared for the bid. I say this, of course, having been in both cities while the official Olympic committees were touring around and assessing all the preparations. In London, if you might have know the city was in contention for the nod if you kept your eyes open enough for the stickers that said "London 2012: Back the Bid, Make Britain Proud." In Paris, you would have had to have been blind and deaf to have missed the Olympic spirit, and even then, I'm not sure you could have escaped it. 
The City of Lights was lit up like a big Olympic Christmas tree (or something like that) and everywhere you went there was that adorable logo of Paris2012 (yeah, I liked it. I thought it was cheesy with the heart and all, but cute.)C'est la vie, Paris! Guess I'll have to figure out how to get back to London in 8 years. ::wink, wink::
