Two Kinds of People

In recent days I have come to the conclusion that there are two types of people:
  • those who are generally content with what they do and will continue on a given path until it no longer satisfies them
  • those who were seemingly born to do whatever it is they do.
Now, of course, anyone who reads this regularly knows that I am of the latter category. If I wasn't born to be a marketer/advertiser, I'm not sure what my purpose is. I live it, I breathe it, I eat it, I drink it, I pro bono it, I dream it, etc. I love it.

My dad is the same way. I'm not sure what he'd do if he weren't an engineer. One thing is for sure, he certainly wouldn't be the same person he is today. Not even close.

My mom, however, is the exact opposite. As is my darling dearest. Both fall into the former category. While both are generally content with their current jobs (or at least my mom is with hers), they could be doing something else and probably be equally content. They don't live for their career. They wouldn't be totally different people if they were in a different career. They've found something that is more or less rewarding and not too painful and gives them a paycheck every two weeks.

I do not understand these people.
