On my lovely little 10-12 minute drive to work this morning, I passed CNN's current top story. Cool, huh? Well, sort of. Expect when you consider the breaking news story is about a prison shooting that killed a DOJ agent and the suspect. Yes, that's right. I pass a prison every morning on my way to work. Perhaps a bit morbid, but it does provide a refreshing reminder that there are worse places to be than work.
Anyhoot, to claim my 2 seconds of fame, the scene this morning was way cool. I think every cop (and we have a lot since we're
Florida's Capital) in town was surrounding the prison. Snipers on the tops of all of the buildings. Ambulances. Fire engines. The whole ten yards. All, of course, during morning rush hour on the "highway" that circles the city. Quite the show.
