- if you can't enjoy your own company, who's company will you ever enjoy? if you can't entertain yourself, will anyone ever entertain you? if you can't have oodles of fun, happiness, and laughs on your own, how will you ever have them with someone else? my friend derek, whom i have admired for ages, is currently in europe by himself. that's right, he's traveling around, enjoying his own company, and pushing himself to test his limits against the challenges that generally come with traveling alone. (do i go out at night or stay in a watch the tv? do i eat in a nice restaurant or do i just wing it at mcd's? how to make friends with other travelers when you're by yourself?) he's my hero for the moment.
- i have, thus far, found 2007 to be an uninspiring year. but then again, i think it was fated to be as such. let's face it, some years are predestined to be cooler than others. 2000, 2001, and 2002 for example. 2020 is also hot to be a pretty kick-ass year. but 2007? it practically screams vanilla.
- i miss my #4, ms. sam lee. she went to south korea and then all over se asia for winter break which was supposedly a few short weeks but has somehow lengthened this year into an eternity. it's funny too because we start every conversation practically with saying how we never talk and always miss each other, but we must talk a lot more than we realize because truly this time it's been far too long.
- ever meet somebody ridiculously cool, spend some time with them, think even more of them, and then become moderately obsessed with that person? not in any sort of romantic or stalker-esque obsession, but more like a cocaine addict obsessed. like you get such a high out of talking to that person that all you want to do is gab back and forth 24/7.
- i am officially overworked and underpaid. my ideal situation would be overworked and overpaid, but i'd happily settle for overworked and fairly compensated. i guess that comes with seniority.
- happiness 101 as taught by the NY Times. I haven't read it yet, but perhaps you can and tell me about it. sounds like it might be a good read.
- seacrest out.
