zappos changed my life

Last night I ordered two pairs of shoes on zappos.com. 9:18pm CT to be exact. They arrived with UPS today. Holy crap. No seriously...holy crap. Free shippng too.

This whole experience changed my life (somewhat). Before I was wavering back and forth on whether or not to stay agency side forever and ever or to someday go client side... today, my new zen god (aka zappos.com) tells me i must go go client side and do exactly what i suspect they did: Become head of some marketing department and take 50% of my budget and give it to "r&d" (and i use that term kind of loosely but really whatever department will make the product better). If zappos can process my order and payment, find the shoes, box them up, and give to ups for next day delivering within hours, then think about what other products might do. Calorie free M&Ms, cars that don't need gasoline or some crazy huge electric plug, cell phones that don't drop calls in elevators, the sky is the limit.

"The product that will not sell without advertising will not sell profitably with advertising."
