business cliches

personal hero seth godin writes on business cliches and how they've destroyed credibility and reality, etc. etc.
Does anyone really think Karl Rove is going off to spend more time with his family? Does he even know the names of the people in his family? Did the people at Ford Motor really drop everything to make quality job one, or was it just marketing tinsel?
then links to the veritable encyclopedia of business cliches which proves to be rather enjoyable as i reflect on the inherent bs of the ad business. i once did a Z new business pitch using nothing but a few powerpoint slides that were prefabricated for every pitch, a good looking business outfit, and the words "creative" "strategic" and "innovative" in various combinations.
