i'm engaged! part 2

how excited i am: ridiculously so. i'm beside myself. i was surprised. but we had been talking about getting married for a while so it wasn't like we weren't on the same page. but i certainly didn't know it was going to happen yesterday.
how it happened: we spent the holiday weekend in st. louis for my college roommate's wedding. came home saturday night absolutely shattered (from allergies and exhaustion). got up early after a wonderful night's sleep to watch the wimbledon men's finals. nidal vs. federer. very exciting. well, it is if you like tennis. by the second set (or is it game?) it was pretty much just two guys hitting a ball back and forth for me. so i went to get a nice long shower and take it easy while he watched his beloved game.
freshly showered and dressed, came back to hang out with my honey on the couch. he turned off the tv and snuggled up with me -- which is very much our favorite thing to do. "i love you," he says. "i love you too dear," say i. "i can't wait to marry you." "me neither, dear. any time you're ready i've told you you can just ask." "really?" he asks. "sure thing." "well...okay." and he gets down on one knee with a box.
my reaction: a controlled yelling of "are you serious?!" "yes, dear." "well, have you asked my parents?" "yes, they had the ring all weekend." "well, what did they say?" "they're excited." "well, then YES!" and some tears and a lot of happiness and shaking.
did i mention i'm unbelieveably excited? i get to marry the nicest man i've ever met in my life. i'm the luckiest there is.
the ring: the below picture does no justice to the ring. it's honestly the prettiest piece of jewelry ever. and i'm really not being biased. it looks pretty darn big on my hand, but not overwhelming. it's a perfect 0 ideal cut so the diamond catches the light beautiful. andy says it was the sparkliest one he could find. absolutely stunning. platinum setting that was custom made since he couldn't find one just as he thought i'd like. it is perfect, just like the man i'm going to marry.
plans: we have no definite plans for a wedding yet. tossing ideas around for dates, locations, etc. keeping it simple and small hopefully. i'm sure there will be much more to come.
