and they had just two groups for starting. those who ran sub-8min/miles and those who didn't, which meant i was starting behind a lot of 11-12min/milers, which in such a short race means i'm constantly passing them. it took us a full 20-25 minutes to get everyone through the starting line. i was about 15 minutes in. so things might have been a bit faster if i weren't always having to sort out the best way to pass people and zigzag. but it only would have been a bit faster. and overall it was awesome.
so, a 56:38 means:
- 9:09/mile
- 5:42-5:45/km for the first 7.5km
- 5:27/km for the last 2.5km
- 67,903th in the world
- 3535th in chicago (that puts me just about in the fastest 1/3!)
