hahaha...or is it? let's run the numbers.
assume 20mil mac users worldwide (latest numbers i could find were 15mil in 2006, from here.)
and assume window's vista latest campaign is $300mil. (published numbers for the jerry seinfeld spots)
and assume the goal is lofty and out to convert 10% of mac users to pc this year. that's 2mil mac users.
or $150 of advertising per person. might as well just give them a free copy or two of vista for that price, right?
but let's say you only make 1/2 your goal and you convert 5% of mac users. $300 of advertising per person. well, heck. let's just give your target a free computer for xmas with a bow on it. not many people out there are just going to throw away a new free computer, no?
