I find this headline rather odd, don't you? Okay, maybe I'm the only one, but I'm right. It is a weird headline. If you think about it, who really knows what your chances of death are on any given day? The possibilities for death at any given moment are so ridiculously high for even the healthiest, most cautious, and boring people that I really wonder how this calculation of 1-in-100 adds to anyone's stress levels. Once you get past all the odds pre-existing because of the standard heart attacks, drownings, car accidents, lightning strikes, old age, spontaneous combustion, and eaten-by-bear occurances, you really wonder how you've made it thus far. And so what if you've now lowered your chances of another day of survival by 1-in-100? Is it really headline news?
