monday

time & life are just flying by these days. mostly full of goodness... except for today. i should just hibernate today like the bear that i am. nothing like a monday with rain to start the week out right.

anyhoo, it's wedding madness at my work. my boss just got engaged over the weekend. and a girl down the hall expects to be sporting a big rock within the month. and my office neighbor thinks something is up before september for her. bridal insanity. we should create our own reality show. really, it'd be like the office meets bridezillas. do i hear #1 rated show on television? it'd be awesome.

i have absolutely zero motivation to run these days. hence half the reason for this posting. so i can delay this evening's run even further. if negative amounts of motivation were possible, that's where i'd be. as such, i've taken to running back indoors these past bunch of days. despite it being lovely outside. indoors, i can jog on the comfort of a treadmill, with a fan positioned right at my back, and a lovely water bottle at my side, and a tv with 300 channels of possible distraction. i suppose ( hope) i'll get over this slump soon. i just feel like i'm not accomplishing many new feats these days. tonight's run is 8 miles (i swapped sunday/monday long run this week). big whoopie doo. i know i can do that. i did it saturday. and then i went grocery shopping and ran errands and cleaned my apartment and went to a bbq and whatever else. and then ran 6 miles the next day. so it's 8 miles of not much of an awful challenge. you might say i could try to run it faster. well, sure, i suppose. but not much faster. or i could up the mileage... but not without increasing risk of injury. i respect that there comes a point where the human body cannot/should not support ridiculous amounts of strain on it. 50+mile weeks = ridiculous amounts of strain for me. so i'll stick with my 35-45mpw.

still no date/place set for the wedding. but hope all around. and lots of ideas. my fiance is super creative and i totally love that he's really into all the planning. oh... but i think we finally have figured out our whole wedding party! 1 maid of honor, 1 best man, 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen, 1 junior bridesmaid, 2 ushers, 1 flower girl (who might double duty ring bearer), 2 readers, and ummm...a partridge and a pear tree?

haven't read much that fantastic lately. i'm reading a book called intern. i think i might stop halfway through. it's basically "somebody came in sick, i screwed up, here's what i learned, onto the next case." i got it because it was new and the cover looked cool. thank heavens it's a library book. i did, however, pick up 2 tom wolfe books this weekend in my new effort to read everything he's written. the right stuff and electric koolaid acid test are on deck.

i shall return tomorrow or wednesday with something better.
